Doha: Little Serah’s dream of an eco-friendly car that turns deserts into green gardens is now flying her to Japan.
Serah Maria Rejeesh, a grade three student of DPS Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS), was one among students from 80 countries who participated in the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest and is the only contestant from Qatar now packing her bags to fly to Japan.
The competition in Qatar itself was open to various schools, out of which Serah emerged as the second prize winner, in the first category, that was for under-8 year old.
Serah’s father Rejeesh Mathew, who is a Chartered Accountant in Qatar, said, “Artworks across categories that got selected from Qatar was sent to Tokyo and out of them, only Serah’s painting got selected and she has been invited for the award distribution ceremony.”
Serah accompanied by her father will be attending the award distribution ceremony at Tokyo, Japan, which is to be held from August 27 to 31.
The entry was to be submitted, along with the details of the dream features of the car, which her father explains in simple words as pollution-free, environment regenerating and eco-friendly car.
The Qatar sponsors of the inter-school Toyota Dream Car Contest were the distributors of Toyota in Qatar, which is Abdullah Abdulghani and Brothers.
Serah, who lives in her own world of art and colors, since the young age of 4, identifies ‘nature’, as her favorite theme. She is a frequent participant and winner of various competitions held at school and other art forums.
Hailing from the southern state of Kerala in India, her family including her mother Deepthy and younger sibling Mathew Avira are proud supporters of her achievements.
