A festival of local vegetables under title ‘The Festival of Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms’ opened at Lulu Hypermarkets under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The inaugural ceremony held at Lulu Hypermarket, Al Gharafa was attended by Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Under-Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs and Yusuf Khalid Al Khulaifi, Director of Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipalities and Environment, along with a number of officials from local farms and Lulu.
This is being held as part of the ongoing ‘Premium Qatar Farms Program’ launched by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) at major commercial outlets.
The festival offers certified premium local vegetables in boxes. Lulu officials indicated that premium Qatari vegetables will be made available at all Lulu outlets until end of the season.
Besides ‘Premium Qatar Farms Program’, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has launched various initiatives like ‘Qatar Farms Program’, festival of flowers, honey, dates and dairy at the facilities at various locations to attract customers in a bid to increase the sale of local vegetables.Courtes:ThePeninsula
